Welcome to 9jaStates. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.
1. Nature of the Platform
9jaStates is a digital participation and representation game based on the states and territories of Nigeria.
Claiming or taking over a state means that you are recognised as the current claimant of that state on the 9jaStates platform. It does not give you legal ownership, governmental authority, jurisdiction, property rights, or any other rights over the actual territory represented by the state.
2. Claims and Takeovers
- Initial claim: An unclaimed state may be claimed by paying its current required price.
- Takeover: A claimed state may be taken over by paying an amount that meets or exceeds the current minimum takeover price.
- Custom amounts: Users may voluntarily pay more than the minimum required amount.
- Final ownership: Ownership is only transferred after the payment has been successfully verified by 9jaStates.
- Previous claimants: When a state is taken over, the previous claimant does not receive any portion of the new payment.
- Reservations: A temporary reservation may be used to hold a state while a user completes the claiming and payment process.
3. Payments and Refunds
Users are responsible for reviewing the state, amount, and other relevant information before completing a payment.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated by 9jaStates, completed payments are final and are not refundable simply because another user later takes over the state.
If a payment is completed but the platform is unable to correctly process the associated claim due to a technical or processing issue, the matter may be reviewed and resolved appropriately.
4. User-Submitted Information
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you submit is accurate, lawful, and that you have the right to use any business name, website, logo, description, or social media identity you provide.
You must not impersonate another person or business or submit information intended to deceive, defraud, harass, or mislead other users.
5. Prohibited Activities
You must not:
- Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information.
- Attempt to manipulate claims, prices, reservations, or payments.
- Attempt to interfere with or compromise the platform or its systems.
- Use the platform for unlawful purposes.
- Abuse, harass, or impersonate other users or businesses.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data.
We may suspend, remove, or invalidate activity that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or threatens the integrity or security of the platform.
6. Platform Availability
We aim to keep 9jaStates available and functioning correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, third-party service interruptions, security issues, or circumstances outside our control.
7. Limitation of Liability
9jaStates is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses or damages arising from your use of the service, temporary unavailability, third-party service failures, user-submitted information, or events outside our reasonable control.
8. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of 9jaStates when reasonably necessary, including changes to pricing rules, functionality, or the way the platform operates.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be made available on this page, with the updated date shown above. Continued use of 9jaStates after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
